Of course a quick test fit was needed to make sure I'm on the right track. I then test fitted it with the body. As you can see I got a good gloss coat of white on the body. Once I get a good polish on it I will then set about making masks for the blue paint and painting the body. Jim

Got some color on the car! Hopefully I followed Lance's directions well enough that the yellow stripes will match up! Slowly coming together.... Jim

Wow, looking really good!
Something tells Me you have an entire collection of really nicely built subjects.
Thanks for all the WIP over the past 24 months or so. Very informative. The rear suspension on this kit for example....

Thanks hubie and Mike for your kind comments. Well it's taken me a little while to get to this point. Lance's directions and templates worked out great! I used Testors Model Master paints, Ford and Chevy blue, in the bottle, thinned out to about 50/50, using an airbrush. That seemed to be the best match in color to Indycals decals. Even better than the recommended Tamiya TS-44. Of course Indycals were used and fit very nicely. Now it's down to some of the minor details and getting the car together. I need to finish the interior, and cockpit area, along with the mirrors. I need to get the turbo charger painted and put together. I have to work on the front suspension. Stay tuned in!

Thanks juanjo! Well, the weather finally broke today after another 6 inches of snow fell last night. It's been much warmer, LOL! The temperature was over thirty degrees today! It was a little warmer in my modeling room in the basement. I got to fiddle around a little bit today. I got the cockpit tub finished, now I just have to finish up the dash and steering wheel. Then I can install the tub permanently. Jim

I made up some radiators for the side pods using some plastic card stock and brass mesh, then painted them. I installed onto the under wing. I then mounted the under wings to the side pods. Jim

Even though I haven't posted in a while doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I finally got the cockpit tub, dash and steering wheel finished and installed. You can see I added the roll hoop, fuel filler and pop off valve. Jim

As you can see all the suspension has been added along with the disc brakes. I installed the turbo charger and exhaust. I have the skirts ready for the side pods, but they won't be installed until I have the wheels and tires mounted. Same with the wings. I've have learned my lesson over the years to add the wings last or I am breaking them off when I'm installing other things. Next up for the PC-9b is the windshield and mirrors, along with the air jacks. Jim
