Trying to post this as a pic -- from 1977 Indy program. Did any of you locals see the model display mentioned in the ad. Any one else cringe at the description how the car is exactly as Penske prepared it? Here's some useless trivia - I used to live about 3 miles down the road from the AMT building... and unless they moved or had a different mailing address, they were not on Maple road, they were a mile south of Maple road.

1975 Patrick Sinmast Eagle About 6 months ago someone was selling the original illustrations for this box art on eBay. They were really nice but very, very expensive. Makes you wonder what has become of all the box art over the years.

Trying to post this as a pic -- from 1977 Indy program. Did any of you locals see the model display mentioned in the ad. I remember the display at the Hilton. It was in the lobby area. It was a small display case mounted on the wall that was right across from the escalator that went to the lower level. The wall it was on would have been the back wall of the Hilton's bar. I remember there about 6 or 8 models with two of them being the '63 Agajanian car and the Gatorade McLaren. The others, my memory escapes me. After looking at the ad, the funny thing is, is that I don't remember any labeling or signage noting why it was there or whom the model builders were. I made many business calls on the Hilton from 1977 through 1982-3 and I remember the display was still up until at least 1980 or '81. I think it came down when they did a re-model. I really believe that in some way just seeing that display got me in to building and collecting models of Indy 500 cars. While I haven't built in anything in 15 years or more, I still collect. Mostly 1/43 handbuilts and diecasts, but any scale if it's something I like. I like staying up with the hobby and seeing all of the great work that's on this site..

I found this while searching eBay. International Gran Sport 500 Indy Roadster Team #2965. A combo set featuring the Willard Battery Special and an El Camino. Link hereAttachments:
