At the 1964 NY World's Fair, the 1963 Lotus was on display in the Ford pavillion. For $5 you could sign up to buy a model, which my dad did for me. I still have the kit, restored from the chopper -- hey, we all did it as kids -- but didn't have the box. Over the years I have found two. Was this kit offered by mail (like from magazines) in any other place, or was it a World's Fair "exclusive"? And does this box pre-date the decorated box?

Bill -- I have a number of Eagles and should be able to put together a complete kit for you -- can't believe you don't have one.

Here's another variation on the Lotus 29 -- supposedly a Dealer Issue. Is it possible that they offered it at Ford dealers and at the World's Fair before they pu it on the shelves?

AMT also did a Parnelli Jones Watson with a trailer and an El Camino to pull it.

The Clay Regazzoni kit is an AMT McLaren , But is was released by STAMAX HOBBY AG out of Luzern Switzerland with the correct decals for Clay's car, which was driven later in the year by a young driver named Rick Mears.

Trying to post this as a pic -- from 1977 Indy program. Did any of you locals see the model display mentioned in the ad. no, don't remember that but then again it WAS 35 years ago! lol the Hilton is downtown, so it wouldn't have been something that if you were at the track one day, you could just swing by and check out. odd that they would have it at the Hilton too. why not at the track or even at the Speedway Motel. it was still there, then.
