Kenny Herriott was the sponsor of Jerry Unser's Indy car. When he died Kenny gave up on being a sponsor. He had a huge picture of the car in his main office. Nobody knows where it went when the company folded. I found his logo from an actual piece of memorabilia. My first job was with them and they sent me to college - full tuition. Their unofficial slogan was - If you can't carry it, ship it by Herriott. Maybe somebody can use this.

Really cool, and a good story.
I don't know if you guys realize this, but I lived one address off Georgetown Road for 19 years. My neighbor George Seymore, whos home was an Indiana homestead (been in the family for three generations) had naturally lived there all his life. He knew Wilbur Brink for God's sakes! The Brink home had been across the street (McCray) from my home and further to the west.
anyhow
I used to talk to George quite a bit. The north end of the Speedway back then had no stands. It was all briar patch and weeds. There was a wooden fence but it stopped right past McCray. George used to hunt rabbits in the weed patch (outside turn four) and when the month of May rolled around he would walk over there and watch practice. He was standing outside the turn four wall when Jerry Unser had his accident. George said he was drinking an 8 ounce coke out of the little bottle. Jerry's car had taken a pretty good thump and when it came to a stop it bursted into flames. Unser was wearing a tee shirt and tennis shoes. Jerry hopped out and was screaming his head off, and he noticed George standing there..... and yelled and yelled for George to help him. George said he felt terrible, as the only thing he had on him was that little bottle of Coca Cola. He watched in horror as Jerry Unser melted right in front of his eyes.
George had a bunch of cool storys. Two houses down was Clint Brawners home, and Clint lived in Indy quite a bit. George also goofed around with Ed Elisian.
George passed away about six years or so ago. A ton of storys went with him.
