Lately I've started entertaining the notion of building a replica of Roger Ward's Sprint Car that he won the Formula Libre race with at Limerock Park in 1959. Judging from photos it appears the car had smaller than normal wheels. Can anyone shed some light on what it would take to build this model?

I believe he ran a Kurtis midget not a sprint car. The monogram Kurtis midget could be used and I believe someone is resiin casting the Hillegas nose.

Big Donkey resin has these - need to get one myself. That would be a great project. Roger Ward was one of the nicest racers I ever met. MJ bigdonkeyresin.com/big_donkey_web_site_023.htm

The car Roger Ward won the Lime Rock Race has a standard Kurtis nose and grill, the decals can be ordered from Scale Auto Details at public.fotki.com/doctordarryl/scaleautodetails/He has the decals for the car as raced and restored, the Race Car was a Light Blue #24 Ken Brenn Spl. restored as a Red Ken Brenn Spl. #24 The Ward midget withe the different nose was the car he raced at the U.S.Grand Prix at Sebring in 1959. The midget was fitted with a 2 speed transmission an a clutch for this race, he had a DNF. I know of no decals for this car. Hope this helps Old Photos Walt
