I was looking at Indycals list of decals and have really gotten interested in building a couple of the 1967 Eagles he offers so my question is besides the nose and the side tank does any one know of any other other mods that need to be made to the MPC 68 Eagle?

Mike,
I believe that the 68 Eagle is completely different animal from the 67 Eagle, especially in the shape of the body. The 67 is a rounder body compared to the 68, which has a much flatter body. That is the main reason we have not seen anyone ever convert the MPC 68 Eagle to a 67 or even a 66 Eagle. There are some other differences as you mentioned, but that is the main difference. Kevin has just completed his 67 Eagle in resin and it's a beauty! You can contact Kevin at silvercitymodels@comcast.net.

Mike,
If you're set on converting something into an 66/67 Eagle it would seem to be easier to convert a 1965 Lotus 38. The early 66/67 Eagle is much closer to the Lotus 38 than the 68 Eagle. In the book Gurney's Eagles by Karl Ludvigsen, pg.15 states, "Thus a kinship with the Lotus 38 in all main design features was undeniable." Unless you have one on hand, a Testors or IMC Lotus 38 is going to cost you a pretty penny. It's just easier and more accurate to buy Kevins!
