Hi everyone, my name is Glenn Brooks. I added some cars to the virtual museum today, and I would like to introduce myself. My interest in racing began when I was 7, in 1969. My father was a flight instructor and some of his buddies from the airport raced 3/4 Midgets in the American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association. He took me to go see them for the first time at an indoor race at Atlantic City Convention Hall and I was hooked. I grew up within a 5 minute drive to Trenton Speedway. Between 1970 and 1979 (the last race there) we only missed one Indy Car race, April of 1975 because I was playing in a hockey tournament. Built race car models back then with the not so good tooling that was available. In 2000 I went to the F1 race at Indy and saw this display of Indy car models in the museum that I knew couldn't be obtained at the local hobby shop. Anyway, that's what got me started in all this. I had to have those rare cars for my own. I started racing in 1996 in the Bertil Roos Race Series which uses F2000 cars, did that until 2019, and started racing Formula Fords, having a good season in 2021! The Mario car from 1969 I put out there in the Virtual Museum was pretty pricy so one of my racing buddies who also has an interest in models split the cost with me. I agreed to build it, then it will reside in his model case in Dallas Texas. A mutual friend of ours who we met through racing is married to Mario's daughter Barbara. We asked our friend if we could get his Father In Law to put his initials on the model and he said yes, so I am working on getting that accomplished. Let's hope! BTW, attended the Indy 500 from 1985-2003, and 2018.
