First build in over 40 years. I learned lots and had some fun. Overall, I fairly happy with it for a first-go. I'll do some things a bit different on the next one. Not really thrilled with how the engine turned out. I tried drilling holes to attempt to wire it, but didn't like my drill handiwork so I filled them. Plus the engine and rear wing struts were hand-painted while I waited for my airbrush to arrive. The airbrush would have worked better. The engine cowl isn't seating as well as I'd like. I know where it's rubbing, so I may sand the underside down a bit more. . I still have to add the mirrors, they are ready to go. Getting the shock push rods fastened in position was a bit of a bear for me, so, I'll take a break and do the mirrors tomorrow. (Thanks again Jim for the push rods) Any tricks for doing the mirrors? Bill

Looking good to me! The engine cover should sit down nicely with a little bit of sanding work, if you have a variable speed rotary tool that might make it easier to work out the tallest spots.

I'm much happier with how this engine is progressing so far for Danny Sullivan's 1988 Penske. The airbrush (and a little more free time) really helped.
