My all time favorite indy car, I have it in HO, 1/43, 1/32, 1/24 (the Lancer slot car) 1/20 and I use to have the 1/12 scale but I sold it several year ago. Great looking model, Mike

I have a resin cast of the body....nothing else. Any suggestions as to what parts I could use to finish this car?
THANKS!

Hi iborg, 1/25 Silent Sam: The 1/25 1967 Paxton Turbine came with only the body, vacuformed windshield, and wheels and tires molded as one piece. So you aren’t minus a lot. If building today, I would begin by contacting Michael Portaro at Indycals.net. He has the decals you will want. Alas only in 1/20 scale Indycals offers the wheels and tires. Of course you need 1/25. Michael will have 1965-66 'Stones' (Firestones) in 1/25 which are an option to solve the tire need. If you go that route, tell Michael you need four rears only. It’s parts box time… These days I would borrow from the 1968 MPC Lotus Turbine kit: Tires are passable (wheels are not), you can use driveshafts, brakes, seat, steering wheel, mirrors, jet exhaust. And the AMT 1963 Lotus 29 kit: Rear wheels look closer than anything else I can think of (you’ll need four), front suspension is closer than anything else. Scratchbuild: The brake air vents are bent aluminum tubing. Mirror posts are coke can aluminum (I love to use that, nothing thinner). Rear nerf bar, Fuel connects, and roll bar are aluminum tubing. Well, nobody said it was easy. 😊 I am also attaching Saint Bob Clidinst’s five view for your use. One of the favorites of my youth, I am happy to have it in scale with the rest of the collection. The very best of luck to you. -Mike- I think the front wheels off of the AMT 63 Watson are a little closer to what you need, but you'll need four. I think everything else is spot on! Bill actually made two versions of this car in 1/25 scale. One was a solid bodied car and the other was a "hollow" body that came in four pieces, a top body half, bottom body half, nose and tail pieces. The full kit from Bill also included white metal suspension pieces, mirrors, brake discs, wheel spinners and roll bar. Resin seat, dashboard, steering wheel, wheels and tires were included too. Now if you knew Bill, getting his kits "was like getting a box of chocolates, ya never know what you're gonna get inside!" That's if you even got the kit! LOL!

Thanks so much for the replies. Mine is a solid bodied car. This might help me get this car from a bag that contains several resin bodies to being on the work bench.

I forgot to mention that a vacuform windscreen was also included.

Does anyone have any knowledge about what size and shape the holes are under those race day added scoops ...?
