Hi guys This is the first time I've posted anything to all the members. These questions have probably been answered more than once, but here goes. I have kits of both cars and I see major differences in the two kits. Neither one matches up to drawings I found on the net. The AMT kit the nose is longer than the drawings and narrower and the opening to the drivers compartment seams way to narrow and to long, the windshield is a joke. I purchased a new windshield from one of the vendors and it does not seem much better except it is thinner. There maybe other issues that I have not found yet. The I.M.C. kit looks closer to the drawing, but the nose looks narrow against the drawing. Does anyone have any idea if any thing is correct. I don't have a drawing of the Lotus 34,but I under stand the nose was narrower, so is there any chance the body work was measured off a 34. Another thing any one that has a I.M.C. lotus 29 and a M.P.C. Lotus 38,look at them. they were made by the same company.

Hi Ralph, Some good questions here. There has been many discussions on these cars over the years. Both kits are not accurate as you have guessed and to get to the heart of the matter, there have been upgrade kits done for the AMT car to make it accurate. Here is a link that should help you out if you're going to build the AMT Lotus 29 kit. www.indycals.net/parts/indyparts/63lotus29upgrade.htmlAs far as an accurate Lotus 38 Lance Sellers has just re-released his Lotus 38 a short while ago. This is a resin kit that is very accurate. His kits run from $115.00 to $125.00. However, I believe that the kit is not available anymore. You may want to try to contact him via PM and see if he can help you out. Jim
