Got this resin body some time ago from Bill Jorgensen. Bill couldn't find the master for it, so he used one of the resin bodies that he had casted for the master. It did need some clean up because it was recasted from this earlier casting. I had pulled this body out from time to time to work on it. After some clean up I added the side fences to the rear tire kickups and the shark fin. I don't know how fast this WIP will go, I will be working on a couple of other projects. However, in the meantime you can guess who's car this might be? Jim

I'm going to have to guess Rahal. I've got this car too but haven't found any decals to do anything with it yet. I'd love to do Rahals car someday, the MGD is one of my favorites.

Nope, not Rahal's, but a good guess Dustin! That's one to keep in mind for the future if I ever do another one! I also like the MGD colors. I wish I could get them MGD decals for 94. I'm keeping a Jogensen Penske PC-22 aside to hopefully one day do Rahal's 93 Penske that he ran at the 94 Indy race and finished third. I just need the 94 MGD decals.
I would also like to do Pruett's 95 Firestone Lola Michigan winner, but again no decals. There were a set of decals that were made to do two 95 Lolas that originally came with the body when ordered from Bill. I'm hoping to make one of those Lolas. That's it for clues today! LOL!

We have a winner! Congrats Cal! Yup, hopefully I'll be able to do the Newman/Haas Lola of Michael Andretti. Namely since those are the decals I have for his car. I could do Tracy's car, but since Andretti is a home town favorite, in my area, I figured I'd do his car. Jim

Got to do a little more work on the Lola. Before I could prime the car I needed to get all the locating holes in place. I started with fashioning the under tray from a Revell Reynard kit. That way I can line up the upper A-arms for the rear suspension. I also used an AMT Penske roll bar from my spares box and built it up a bit to get the proper height. Jim

Got most of the locating points drilled out! Just need to do the front wing locating points. However, I couldn't resist doing a test fitting of all the the suspension and interior. I used the front and rear suspension from the Revell Reynard kit. I used the tub and seat from the AMT 88 Lola kit. This took a lot of grinding and sanding on the tub and inner cockpit area of the body to get the fit right. Just a note that I had filled in the original locating points, because when Bill mastered this car I believed he used the AMT kit as a donor. With using the Revell kit the locating points need to be changed. I think that the best donors for Bill's kits of the 90's cars are the Revell Reynard kits. Now I can move on to priming the the body. Then I can see all the imperfections and go to work! Jim

Speaking of decals, there are two sets of decals I would really like to have for the 95 Lola. I have already mentioned Scott Pruett's #20 Patrick Firestone Lola. However, I would also love to have decals for the #70 Galles Delco/Futaba Lola of Davey Jones who placed second in the 96 Indy 500. Jim

By relocating the front suspension mounting points it appears the little hump where the steering links come out are no longer in the correct position. Do you move the humps or the links to line back up? Or is it just an 'optical illusion'?
