Thanks Mike!
I know many guys want to make all the Indy 500 winners. Other guys are interested in the front row qualifiers of the Indy 500s. I just thought this would be another niche of modeling Indy Cars for some of our fellow modelers. It might make us look at some other modeling schemes and conversions and a demand for more types of decals!

Well the 2016 schedule for Indycar is out and it looks like after three years there will not be a triple crown. In 2013 Indycar tried to establish a triple crown again after a hiatus of 23 years. Actually 2013 was not a true triple crown as the Pocono race was only 400 miles. For this year it looks like the only 500 mile races for Indycar will be the Indy 500 and the Pocono 500. There will be only five oval races this year also taking us back to 2013, just short of a third of the races run for 2016. We had at least six ovals the past two years.

Jim I forgot to add that the only actual Triple Crown winner is still and remains Al Unser, Sr. winning all three 500s in one year in 1978. A few have come close, but no one has matched that feat in 38 years! Rutherford(1974), Foyt(1975), B. Unser(1980) and Johncock(1982), all winning two of the three 500s for their prospective year. Al actually won four 500s in a row if you add the last 500 for 1977 at Ontario Speedway the year before as pointed out in my opening statement. Hopefully, there will be another 500 added sometime in the future, for a series that was mainly on ovals. Jim

I changed the format of the Triple Crown winners. It will be easier to update this way. It also looks like there will not be a Triple Crown challenge for 2016.
