This is my build of a 1/43 Scale 1964 Cobra CSX-2196 AKA "Flip Top" This car was basically a prototype of the big block Cobra's running an exotic all aluminum Ford big Block FE series 390. The Car was called a "flip top" because of its special Aluminium body which the front and back would open like a clamshell exposing the cars tube chassis. It only ran one race (Nassau 1964) where it did not finish due to the 390 blowing up early in the race. It remained in Shelby America possession until the mid 2000's when it was sold of several million $$ This is a Resin/White Metal kit from Marsh models which I added 76 photo-etched rivets, seat belts and painted it the correct Ford Guardsman Blue from Scale finishes. I had a lot of fun building this one..

Wow! I love this car. Your building seems larger scale!

Awesome build Andy. I was lucky enough to see this model in person at last year's IPMS Nationals. The photos are excellent, but they really don't do it justice.
