Don't forget, this car was the ex-Pure Firebird Spl. drove in 1964 by Bobby Marshman. To the story this one was in first, drove by Dan Gurney in 1963 Indy practice(chassis 29-2),and after his crash in tests, the Lotus 29 was rebuilt with the 4 cam DOHC Ford and sold to Lindsey Hopkins to the '64 Indy 500. In the mid-64,Lindsay Hopkins sold this car to Caroll Horton-Jerry Alderman Ford who use this chassis along 1965,as far as it was crashed by Al Miller at the start of '66 Indy 500(after,the car was rebuilt in first Lotus 29 specifications). In the mid-64 Lindsey Hopkins bought the chassis 29-3,the ex-Clark's Lotus(2d at the 63 Indy 500,and 1st at Milwaukee 200 & Trenton 200).The car whish was destroyed in the Marshman's fatal crash. So,as you see this Lotus 29 has an interesting history, also as the Pure Firebird Special.
1966 Al Miller-Jerry Alderman Lotus 29-2-
Best greetings.

Two pics I've found from the Bobby Marshman Lotus 29...
The Lotus 29-2 in the IMS Firestone tire tests, before the '64 Indy 500: --This was the car sold to Lindsey Hopkins.
And the final race from Bobby Marshman at the Bobby Ball Memorial,Phoenix November 22,with the Lotus 29-3. --Bobby Marshman DNF this race but classified 13th,and five days after he crashed this car on the wall of race track at Phoenix also, along his last Firestone tire test.He lost his life the december 3....RIP Bobby.
Best greetings.
