Here is Jim Rathmann's 1954 Bardahl #38 Kurtis 500C. Started 28th and finished 28th after wrecking on lap 110. A rather mundane car with no particular history, but having grown up in the 50's I still recall the off beat Bardahl commercials on late night TV and I just had to have a Bardahl car. For some reason, this one appealed to me.
The model is, of course, based on the old Monogram Kurtis kit. I swapped the exhaust to the right side, replaced the grill with K&S photo etched mesh, raised the axles and made some other minor changes. The 38's are homemade decals, the rest of the decals are Indycals.

Nicely done! Obscure cars are great!
