Based on a photo and information in the back of the Jack C. Fox Indy book this appears to be the car that Troy Ruttman was unable to qualify for the 1958 500. Apparently the same car failed to qualify in 1959 with Eddie Russo and Chuck Daigh driving. Unfortunately the car builder is not given.

In a 1958 Sports Illustrated article on the 500 it mentions that Ruttman was having trouble getting a Kuzma up to speed. So it would appear to be a Kuzma. Is that Ruttman on the far right in the photo?

The car is a Kuzma. Ruttman said it was the worst car he ever drove. Aggie traded the car to A.J. Watson as part payment for the car that came to be known as "Calhoun." Watson entered the car at Indy as the Ridgewood Builders Spl. and it made the race.
