OK! Finally got the stripes on the car and a nice gloss coat. ![](https://i.imgur.com/0KSo3ks.jpg) Now I have to get my courage up to do the decals. I only have one set, so no mistakes! Jim

Well I got to doin' a little more work on the 93 Penske. I got it decaled and chromed most of the suspension pieces and wheels. Still working on the tires so I don't have them mounted on the wheels yet! ![](https://i.imgur.com/lK1aYtc.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/LTSz6qa.jpg) I'll be shooting another clear coat on the car and clear coating the front and rear wings and endplates. I have some more work to do on the interior. Jim

Whose seat belts did you use? They're really nice and the car is great!

Whose seat belts did you use? They're really nice and the car is great! I usually use whatever photo-etch seat belt sets I can find at a reasonable price. I believe these are Crazy Modeler Sets that I got for around $10.00. Also, instead of using material such as ribbon or cloth material that comes with some sets. I have an assorted number of colored tape. Tape is so much easier to work with! What's nice about using tape is that you cut the ends on a taper. They easily fit through the eyelets of the hardware that way. Then when you fold it over it on itself, it sticks! No glue, no mess! Once the belts and hardware are in place, I add the decal logos. I do glue the seat belts in place with a little super glue. The decals slide on and stick nicely because the tape is glossy. Once the decals are set I add a black wash on the belts and hardware, which give the belts a look of depth and wear. Finally I give the whole seat area a coat of Testors flat coat, taking away any glossy "cheesy" look. I think the tape method looks much more realistic compared to using the cloth material or ribbon method. The tape lays down so much nicer. Here is an actual picture of a 94 PC-23 seat and seat belts: ![](https://i.imgur.com/yjbR2Du.jpg) Here are a couple of pictures from my own tub and seat with seat belts from my Jorgensen 94 PC-23. ![](https://i.imgur.com/wjrOrPm.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/T1yTzRI.jpg) Also noted, there is no flocking. I never really understood that since most seats from the late 80s and early 90s are made of composites and tubs are made of carbon-fiber. Where there is material it is vinyl or leather material. Even earlier cars in the late 60s and 70s had leather or vinyl seats with a smooth dull finish. Tubs were made of aluminum. Just my two cents! Hope this helps. Jim

Well I've been preoccupied over most of the summer and I sort of left the 93 Penske Hanging! Since I had started my 93, Bill had mentioned that the museum had needed a 93, so in the early fall I started work on another 93 Penske. I've been trying to bring the second one up to speed with the with the first, while working on the first. Here are some progress pictures. ![](https://i.imgur.com/FIrokSL.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/gmhEx0N.jpg) As you can see I've added the roll bar, drilled and capped the fuel filler and added shark's teeth to the front of the side pod intakes. I used the Revell Reynard undertray and transmission. I really like how they match up with Bill's Penskes. Once I'm done with the Penskes I want to see how they work with the Bill's 95 and 96 Reynards. ![](https://i.imgur.com/SWouiWQ.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/euKv72T.jpg) I've pinned the suspension pieces along with correcting the rear hubs and front inner aerodynamic wheel covers. ![](https://i.imgur.com/BseTpDm.jpg) Today I stripped the chrome pieces with Easy-Off oven cleaner. To be re chromed with Alclad Chrome. ![](https://i.imgur.com/uXXXWYb.jpg) Jim

I got to add some color to the transmission of the #1-93. I used some black acrylic paint as a wash and then wiped it off with a wet paper towel to add some depth to the details. While I added some detail to the transmission of #2-93. I have three Revell Reynard transmissions shown. The top transmission is a stock Revell transmission. The lower left is #1-93's transmission ready to install on the undertray. The transmission on the lower right is #2-93's. ![](https://i.imgur.com/s8ooFwh.jpg) I added some detail simply by using some Evergreen piping. Cutting it with a small pipe cutter. Using concentric sizes telescoping into each other. ![](https://i.imgur.com/156Um4D.jpg) Here's a closeup of the stock transmission. ![](https://i.imgur.com/1xdGzKe.jpg) #2-93's transmission with detail. I love using Evergreen plastic! I works so well. It welds easy to other plastic and is easy to shape. ![](https://i.imgur.com/wrxwtAE.jpg) Here are the transmissions mounted on the undertrays. ![](https://i.imgur.com/SV2mpIu.jpg) I did get a little sidetracked and got tempted to see what the Revell Reynard transmission and undertray looked like under one of Bill's 95/96 Reynard. Hmmmm......looks and matches pretty good I think! ![](https://i.imgur.com/aS2IzBw.jpg) Down to working on the details on #1-93. I have the steering arms to add, front and rear sway bars, rear upper arms, mount the rear wing. Finish up the interior and add the windscreen and mirrors and accent the panel lines. Maybe a couple of other things I missed. ![](https://i.imgur.com/jH8XMa1.jpg) Jim
