Well it's vacation time so why not get building AMT Kit with various Tamiya, Vallejo and Cobra Motor paints I'm using the current reissue of the kit and it does have some flash especially on the tub and chrome parts but nothing a lil sanding and scraping won't fix I did strip all the chrome and painted everything with either Vallejo Aluminum or Steel the interior of the tubs and side panels were also airbrushed with Vallejo Aluminum The engine blocks were assembled and painted with a base coat of Vallejo Steel I will be going over them with other paints as the build goes on Lastly I glued the cowling and lower nose piece together sanded and applied some good old Bondo red putty once it dries I will proceed to lose what little of my mind I have left trying to smooth out the seem in the NACA ducts Thanks for looking and more to come

I've a couple of these that I've put off tackling for a long time - I'll be watching your WIP very closely & gleaning all the cheat codes I can
Cheers, Jim

I just finished painting the bodies I'll get some pics up when they are dry enough to handle
I'm loving this build so far
I've built 5 Clark's and 4 Gurney's in the past none of them stayed in my collection these two are going to be mine and they are a blast

1st off I hope everyone is staying nice and warm today it's -11 right now in the good old land of Lincoln so no painting today but I thought I'd show you where I am with the Lotus' not really happy I'm going to need to do a lot of paint touch up on the stripe decals but it is what it is

Maybe it's the picture, but it looks pretty good to me. We are our own worst critics!

Nice. Looking like a very thorough bit of work. A great salute to two great drivers.

OK I got the decals touched up I used Tamiya Blue for the Gurney and it's a perfect match I had to find a super light yellow in my craft paint stash for the Clark it's not perfect but honesty close enough I shot some clear earlier and once it's dry I'll shoot some pics
