Thanks for your kind words -a bit excessives - I think several parts can be improved: tie rod, stabilizer bars, shocks, ... Now, It's time for modeling. I tried to complete the car used for the instruction sheet. First dissassembling most parts I can (cyano glued), then repairing little resin issues. Also adjust engine cover side to Hill Car specs. Primed with Tamiya grey and sanded. Interior parts painted with metallic black. After body coating, these parts will be painted with Alclad metalizers. Interior parts masked and covered, ready for two coats of Tamiya white primer. Body is painted with Tamiya TS-26 pure white (two coats); red trim with Tamiya TS-8 italian red. Decals applied from Indycals, except side numerals.

I decided to improve rear wheels. Center wheel cut and glued ahead of the same ring. Tires painted with Tamiya TS-82, wheels with Alclad metalizers and Indycals applied. Body clearcoated and waiting for final detailing and assembly.

Super nice! Love it!
I primed mine last week, so I will be sanding on it as for some reason of late Tamiya primer has been giving me fits! It's not just this kit, but several of the last kits I primed resulted in a terrible fisheye condition. This has happened with Lance Sellers, Fisher Mold and Pattern kits as well. They must have changed something. 24 hour soak in Dawn dishsoap with a light scrubbing with scotchbrite pad, same as forever.
I built an SMTS kit of this subject years ago. The photos (color) that I have, which is the cover of the Clymer Yearbook for 1966 and a large IMS post card, makes me think that this car had some pearl in the paint. I talked with Lance about it last week. To each his own, and I think I am going to try to pearl it up a bit when I paint mine. I'm torn about your wheel modification. I almost think somewhere in the middle looks right. I have to say that your new offset looks more real than the deep dish......
This is a super kit jj. Your build looks great and I can only hope mine turns out 7/8ths as nice! Love the yellow accents on the tip of the nose matching the mirrors. Just wonderful.
ps - stick those fuel fillers in it!!!!

Very, very sweet!! One of my all time favorite Indy winning cars. I want to hear more about the pearl paint? I haven't noticed any pearl effect to the paint in the old photos I have but that may not be the ultimate answer. Super job on the Lola Juanjo, a work of art

It's not just this kit, but several of the last kits I primed resulted in a terrible fisheye condition. ps - stick those fuel fillers in it!!!! I didn't use mold release when casting parts, and I primed with Tamiya grey and white primer too, without previous cleaning, and no issues. May be soap contains any substance incompatible with Tamiya primer. ps - if you lost fuel fillers I can send replacement ones.
