Oh yeah, I certainly did mix up who the OP was! Sorry Mark. Sure enough, that is a Mongoose there. I think it's one of the '71 cars that had the Ford in it. I have another Mongoose kit, and I was toying with the idea of making it the 71, but we'll see... Great minds think alike! I was thinking of doing that one day too, I have an extra Mongoose too! I always wanted to do a 70 and 71 Mongoose, but you're way ahead of me. You already have one of them done and a beauty to boot! I thought maybe if I give it enough time Lance just might do a 71 to go along with the 70.........I have some great photos of the restored 71 if you need them someday. Sorry to jump your post Mark!

Hi Art
Thank you for posting the picture of the car that your father is currently restoring. It’s helpful because I’m now building the Dupont Golden 7 Halibrand-Ford slot car using an old Bob Clidinst bodyshell.
The race car had an ‘American Eagle Racing Team’ logo in front of the windshield, I have only found a distant picture of this logo which isn’t very clear. I don’t suppose you could ask your father for a good picture of this logo (if he has one) I’d really appreciate it if you would.
I’ve also seen this car has had various, presumably developmental changes in both side tank configuration and livery, anything that could help clarify the way it ran at Indianapolis would also be appreciated.
Best regards, Mark

Jim Jim, they actually have the restored 71 in the shop right now. They are using it to replicate missing parts for the one under construction. If you look up George Petrovich on Facebook, he's posting a lot of pics of the process. That said, I'd welcome your pics too!

Best regards, Mark Mark, I was just there last January but I don't see any clear pics I took to see whether the logo was there or not. I'll have my dad check and grab a pic if he can. They just started getting going on the restoration, and me and my dad were just talking about how it was configured with the oil tanks a couple of weeks ago. I uploaded pics I grabbed over the years of all Shrikes for him, but I haven't talked to him since to see if it was of any value. Here's a link to my photo album for you, if it helps. public.fotki.com/alaski48/future-subjects-and/halibrand-shrike/If I find out any more info, I'll let you know! Art
